Quadrant Energy is one of Australia’s leading oil and gas companies, supplying more than 40% of Western Australia’s domestic gas. A leading company requires leading IT infrastructure. Quadrant’s existing IT storage system was deployed by Xpanse in 2012, delivering performance and resilience over the last 4 years.

However, as the system aged, the renewal costs for maintenance were increasing and expansion of capacity was becoming complicated. Xpanse were engaged by Quadrant to provide a range of options that would increase efficiency, flexibility and performance at a lower total cost of ownership.

Working together with Xpanse, Quadrant were able to evaluate and develop a solution that exceeded their expectations.

The new system has already proven its value to Quadrant, with the project objectives being met and delivered ahead of schedule. Power, cooling and physical data centre space requirements have been significantly reduced, storage capacity doubled whilst also delivering significant application performance increases with versatility.

As a result of the success of the project, Quadrant have renewed their emergency response, proactive monitoring and reporting service agreement with Xpanse.
